I absolutely love the holiday season—there’s so much to photograph! That’s why I’m offering a documentary-style Christmas “petite” session lasting one hour. Here are some of my favorite kid-friendly activities that lead to beautiful memories (just a heads-up, they can get a bit messy afterward):
Christmas Tree Decoration
This is a must-do for the whole family and a wonderful moment to capture. It’s a beautiful milestone as your kids grow, especially with new ornaments, particularly those handmade by them.
Making Christmas Ornaments
Head to Michaels to find plain wooden ornaments or nutcrackers to decorate. Grab some markers, and let the kids unleash their creativity! You’ll end up with cute, personalized decorations for your tree.
Decorating Christmas Cookies
To avoid flour flying everywhere, consider buying or baking some Christmas cookies in advance. Let the kids decorate with colorful frosting and sparkles—it may get sticky, but the results are vibrant and photogenic!
Baking
This is one of my favorite activities to photograph! Yes, it can get messy, and cleanup might be a challenge, but capturing little ones focused on baking, licking their fingers, and covered in flour is just priceless.
Repairing Christmas ornaments
Less common activity, but one that can be really fun! We often have ornaments with missing parts that sit in the box. One year, my daughter had a blast repairing them with wire and tools, and it made for some great memories!
